Birding at Teal Lake

Join the Natural History Society from 7:30 AM to about 9:30 AM on Tuesday, April 23, for a birding walk on a two-mile loop trail around Teal Lake. The walk will be led by our Guiding Committee Member, John Goldwood, and expert ornithologist, Jackie Canterbury. In late April, we should have the opportunity to hear and see multiple species of warblers, wrens, flycatchers, and sparrows. We will observe how avian populations return and adjust to an evolving habitat in the wake of industrial logging that impacts much of the Olympic Peninsula. Following the bird walk, there may be time to explore more trails depending upon interest.
